Heart of Our Work

One afternoon, Carolyn got together with her prayer group. On this particular day, they spent some time praying over the ministries in which God had called each individual to serve. When it was Carolyn's turn, she realized she didn't have a specific ministry with which she was serving at the time. The group prayed that God might bless her and move her heart in the direction of His calling.

God often works quickly with an open heart.

The next day, Carolyn received a call from a longtime member of the Right to Life Michiana board, with whom she was well-acquainted. He shared with her that Right to Life is growing its outreach by expanding our "Life Update" radio show in the local community and asked if she might consider serving as the program's co-host to share her wisdom and spirit. Carolyn was moved right away by the timing of this call and agreed to give it some consideration.

She attended our Life Defenders Boot Camp shortly after to learn about Right to Life's mission and the issues we face. She saw this as another instrument of grace, all shared with her in God's timing.

“For a long time, the one aspect of the pro-life mission I have been uncertain about is what to do in the case of when a woman’s life is truly in danger.”

​

Attending the Boot Camp helped clear this up for her, as she was able to understand the differences between a direct and intentional abortion and intervention to save the life of a mother.

​

Sitting down with Carolyn the week after, we quickly realized that she is truly a light to our community. She brings to the table a sincere heart and beautiful life experiences that we are certain will help soften hearts and minds of those in our community to pro-life Truth. What a gift!
